The History of Elliott's
Serving Texas for over 65 Years!
The Elliott’s story begins with Jerre and Kathleen Elliott in 1947 when the couple opened a store in a converted house on Maple Avenue in Dallas, Texas.
The Early Days
Jerre’s skills in customer service had landed him jobs in the oil, chemical, and fertilizer businesses throughout Texas. His business travel brought him into contact with numerous sources for rare hardware items, and he saw an opportunity to sell his finds through the Dallas store.
Kathleen managed the accounting, and she soon went from stowing the invoices in an old cigar box to implementing an automated accounting system that took up a whole wall of the family living room.
Word spread about the little hardware store in Dallas that could get pretty much anything a customer could need. The converted house has long since been replaced by larger stores in Dallas, Plano, and Mesquite, and the Elliott’s team continues to redefine full-service.
Exactly What You Need
Elliott’s specialty is finding each customer exactly what they need. We carry approximately twice the variety of items found in national big box retailers. Our more than 100 employees – including a number who have worked with us for twenty or more years and several third-generation family members – focus on making hard-to-find items readily available.
In a time when high employee turnover and a universal one-size-fits-all mentality dominates much of the retail world, the extended Elliott’s family of professionals is committed to having what you need or being able to get it in a timely manner. We’re
interested in you and your project. It’s what has made Elliott’s Hardware the hardware store of choice in North Texas for 65 years!
Elliott's Hardware is a member of the Central Network Retail Group.
